Bridge History
Bridge L8908 is one of several bridges constructed between 1912 and 1916 as the Midtown Greenway gorge was dug to run freight rail below street grade. In 2014, there was a need to stabilize the N.W. wingwall. Severe cracking and settlement has taken place over several years and was in disrepair. A foundation was placed at the base of the wall and a structural concrete facing was added to the existing face.
The bridge is a contributing resource to a NRHP (National Register of Historic Places) Historic District.
O.N.E. Involvement
O.N.E. designed and developed emergency plans to repair the wingwall.
